WE ARE AN IKO KITE CENTER BASED IN BAJA MEXICO AND ALASKA

We teach year-round in El Sargento, B.C.S. Mexico. During the winter season, the consistent North winds provide great conditions for learning all disciplines in all conditions. The East summer sea breezes provide good light wind conditions for all disciplines.

Alaska is an amazing place to kite and wing. Learning in Alaska can be quite challenging, when possible, we encourage students to consider snowkiting first. It’s an excellent way to learn ground school and kite flying skills before progressing into the water.

The Ideology and Methodology of Our Courses and Lessons

Our IKO based courses are complete “novice to notable”. We take you from never having touched the gear to being a confident pilot with all the skills to get out there and return. Course durations are 3, 5, 7 and 10 days, and are private 1:1 student to instructor.

Our courses include the use of our gear for the remainder of your time once you complete the course. Meaning if you choose 7 days for your course, and you complete in 5. You may continue using our gear for two more days.

We provide “select” skills lessons to those who already kite and want a refresher. The skills we provide lessons for include Launching and landing with an assistant. Self-launching and landing. Complete self-rescue. Body dragging up wind. Best practices for setting up your gear. Entering and exiting the water.

We are often asked if we do lessons by the hour, the answer is no. It’s been our experience that hourly based lessons do not provide as much value to students in relation to their progression. Our courses are taught with the expectation of the student being 100% capable at the end of instruction, and adjusting instruction based on student progression and feedback. This allows students to progress at their own pace without worrying about paying more or having to skip learning skills to finish lessons on time.

About us

Established in 2017, we began offering kiteboarding lessons in Baja, then returning to our roots, started offering individual kiteboarding and snowkite lessons in Alaska. Today our IKO Kite Center in El Sargento, B.C.S., Mexico offers complete learn to courses for kiting, winging, parawing, and foiling, as well as select skills lessons. We continue to offer individual kiteboarding and snowkite lessons in Alaska both through Freeride Kiting directly and a friendly relationship with Alaska Kite Adventures.

We partner with the IKO and IWO for our instruction standards and Flysurfer, Slingshot, Ozone, SABFoil, BbTalkin, and Mystic Boarding for all our kite center and instruction gear, as well as our own personal kits and quivers.

We pride ourselves on providing and using great, reliable, durable, safe gear for our students, ourselves and our customers.
